NO8D DX-Engineering's Experimental LPDA System

This is a 200 foot rotating tower with Six DX Engineering Experimental
Log Periodic Antennas. Each antenna has 16 elements on a 42 foot boom.
The antennas exhibit excellent gain, front-to-back ratio and very low
SWR from 14-30 MHz. The phasing system built by Array Solutions allows
any one antenna, the bottom two, the bottom four, the top four, top five
or all six antennas to be selected at the flick of a switch to match the
Take Off Angle of the array to the incoming angle of any signal while
still preserving the attributes of the individual antennas.

Array Solutions collaborated with Paul's ideas and created a low SWR wide band control system to allow selection of each single antenna and combinations of the six. We also built the control console for him which displays the complex selection in a very simple way using a "stack" of LEDs to represent the antennas.

The six LEDs represent his LPDA positions being powered.
